Merry (almost) Christmas! I finally got a minute to shoot our Christmas card pics this past week (in typical me fashion lol) I love doing this every year and looking back on photos from the year before. I can’t believe this is me and Brandon’s 9th Christmas together. And every year gets merrier :) I was thinking we would do our photos at our new house but then saw the market down the road was decorated and the perfect spot. We live right down from a cute little country farmers market that always has local produce and goods. They had it all set up as a pumpkin patch in the fall and transformed it into a Cmas Tree Farm a couple of weeks ago! I’ve always wanted to go to a tree farm, so this was right up my alley (or right up my road ;) The fresh pine scent and overcast wintery day was the perfect mood for the season.

Christmas {Decor} is here & new home photos!

I love taking a day to put up Christmas decorations (and to pretend I have some homemaking skills) and this year I got to decorate our first house! It’s always fun going through past decorations and finding sentimental gems (like dust bunnies and spiders) that were packed away. I wanted a few more decor pieces this year to add to our past ones. However, I wanted to keep it simple and cozy, and without spending a small fortune of course, so I jumped on Pinterest to get some ideas. It’s in my artsy blood to constantly shake things up and love using my home as a canvas. (Sharing more of our Living Room, Dining Room Nook and Guest Sun Room below)

Forever in love with our couch that we found on Sofamania (it was risky buying a couch online but the quality was even better than I imagined!)

Obsessed with these little bottle brush trees from Hobby Lobby and were only a few dollars a piece! I love how they tie in the colors of our living room while giving it a nostalgic feel. I also strung up a strand of lights under the record wall and it reminded Brandon and I of Stranger Things haha (TV show, in case that went over some heads lol) which sold me on that idea.

For the dining room nook, I found a flocked wreath on sale for $15 at Michaels, and made my first homemade bow in buffalo check to attach to it (We won’t discuss how long that took me). I love the farmhouse feel of this trendy ribbon so I also draped it all around our pencil tree and made another bow for our coffee table center piece (see below).

I always love nostalgic touches and making a home cozy, my number one goal. So, now I’m gonna snuggle up on the couch, put on some Bing Crosby and drink some hot cocoa…Merry Cmas season <3 Love, Leah

It’s been fun turning this cute corner in our guest room into my office space. I work from home doing graphic design, so I knew I would need a space with plenty of light and some cute comfy pieces (& good internet connection since we’re out in the woods of Tennessee haha). I happened across this cozy leopard chair at Home Goods (I basically live here, Michaels, Kirkland’s & Hobby Lobby.. $$) and I knew it was the icing on this space. I’m always up for bold patterns and colors (so pick out the things that make you happy :) More of the guest room coming later..:)

This past month has flown by! We’re all moved to Nashville, getting settled, and now having fun putting our own twist on our house. When I saw the house online, I knew it was right up our alley.. a 1950s (first thing I checked was the died-in house history lol), vintage style farmhouse, with a pretty yard.

Being an old soul and a music lover, I love a good retro piece or two, so hunting for furniture and decor to fill it has been pretty exciting haha. My favorite pieces are our record wall and retro couch. I’ve been wanting an orange mid-century modern couch for a while and Brandon found us a super cute one online. When my mom told me my grandma had one similar back in the day I knew it was the one for us!
